Enrolling at Winthrop Primary School

Families living in Winthrop Primary School's catchment area are invited to enrol at Winthrop. If there are places available in classrooms, the school will consider accepting enrolments outside of the boundary.

Proof of residence will be required on enrolment. Enrolment forms are legal documents and for your convenience the Application for Enrolment form is available for download below.

Applications for Enrolment in Kindergarten and Pre-primary for commencement in 2018 are now open.

Further information about Public School Enrolments can be found at the Department of Education’s website.

Please view our Local Boundary Map or contact the school directly to confirm if your address is in area.

To find out the school year of your child or to check your child is old enough to start Kindergarten, visit the Department of Education’s School Age Calculator.

Although Kindergarten is not compulsory, most parents send their children to Kindergarten so they get the best start to learning.

Kindergarten enrolments are accepted from approximately May to July each year for entry the following year.

Information about required documentation for enrolment is detailed on the Application for Enrolment form and can be downloaded below.

Pre-Primary to Year 6

If your child is currently enrolled in Kindergarten at Winthrop Primary School and you continue to live within the school boundary, you are not required to complete an Application for Enrolment for Pre-primary. We will send student update information through the class teacher.

Children who are currently enrolled in Kindergarten at Winthrop Primary School but do not live in the school boundary, you will need to complete an Application for Enrolment for Pre-primary.

Pre-primary is compulsory and every child of Pre-primary age is required to attend school. All children in Pre-primary are guaranteed a place in their local school.
