It is Lap-a-thon fundraising time at Winthrop Primary School!
Well done to the children who ran their heart out on Thursday to raise funds for the school. The Pre-Primary children also thoroughly enjoyed their Scooter-a-thon. Thank you to parents and guardians, teachers and assistants who came down to the oval to mark laps and cheer the children on. Even the kindergarten kids joined in as spectators and soaked up the glorious sunshine.
We would like to thank Winthrop Supa IGA for donating close to 600 juice boxes for all the children who participated.
Now it’s time for the children to collect donations from their sponsors. Donation money and sponsorship forms must be returned to the collection box at the school office by Wednesday 27th June to be eligible for prizes.
Lap-a-thon Prizes are as follows:
·         The first class to return all their forms and money will receive a free lunch from the school canteen:  Subway!
·         Four prizes ($50 gift vouchers) will be awarded to individual children:
o   Junior (Yrs 1-3) and Senior (Yrs 4-6)  prize for the Highest Fundraisers.
o   Junior and Senior Lucky Draw Prizes.
The P&C would like to thank everyone for their contribution towards improving facilities and enhancing learning at Winthrop Primary School.

17th August 2017

 Congratulations!! What a successful event.

What a buzz there was around the undercover area as the students, staff and parents found some amazing treasures and long lost favourites!!

Over 700 books are now in the eager hands of our Winthrop Bookworms, which resulted in over $1500 being raised.  This money goes towards the many valued P & C organised events.

Thank you Andrea Edmondson (Bookworm Jumble Coordinator) for coordinating the event.

Community - P & C

The Winthrop Primary School Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) is a very active body of parents and community members who work together with the Principal and Staff of the school to provide the best school environment for our children. The Winthrop P&C organises the canteen, provides school uniforms and organises many fund-raising events. The P&C fundraising proceeds from events is used to purchases resources for the school.

The P & C have raised funds for refurbishment of the Library and for the purchase of iPads and reading books. The P & C have also organised parent workshops and busy bees around the school. Information on activities of the P & C is regularly published in the School Newsletter. We encourage all parents to be involved in the P & C community!
