It is Lap-a-thon fundraising time at Winthrop Primary School!
Well done to the children who ran their heart out on Thursday to raise funds for the school. The Pre-Primary children also thoroughly enjoyed their Scooter-a-thon. Thank you to parents and guardians, teachers and assistants who came down to the oval to mark laps and cheer the children on. Even the kindergarten kids joined in as spectators and soaked up the glorious sunshine.
We would like to thank Winthrop Supa IGA for donating close to 600 juice boxes for all the children who participated.
Now it’s time for the children to collect donations from their sponsors. Donation money and sponsorship forms must be returned to the collection box at the school office by Wednesday 27th June to be eligible for prizes.
Lap-a-thon Prizes are as follows:
·         The first class to return all their forms and money will receive a free lunch from the school canteen:  Subway!
·         Four prizes ($50 gift vouchers) will be awarded to individual children:
o   Junior (Yrs 1-3) and Senior (Yrs 4-6)  prize for the Highest Fundraisers.
o   Junior and Senior Lucky Draw Prizes.
The P&C would like to thank everyone for their contribution towards improving facilities and enhancing learning at Winthrop Primary School.

17th August 2017

Hello Parents, Carers and Teachers at Winthrop Primary, the P & C are planning a second hand book sale where students (and parents) can purchase used kids’ books for only $2 per item. This event ran very successfully in 2015. It is an excellent fundraiser with the added benefit of encouraging children to read quality books.

The 2017 Bookworm Jumble Sale will be held 17th August (Week 5 Term 3).

For the Bookworm Jumble Sale to be successful the P & C requires donations of books appropriate for Kindy to Year 6 students. Please start collecting books to donate. It is a great opportunity to clear out some bookshelves and cupboards for a good cause. Perhaps some of your neighbours and friends are happy to donate too. Books do need to be age appropriate and in reasonable condition. Collection of books at school will not occur until early August so please do not bring them in until requested. A notice will be in the newsletter.

Thank you very much in advance from Andrea Edmondson (Bookworm Jumble Coordinator)
