At Winthrop Primary School we live our school motto of learning and growing together. Our whole school pedagogy is built around this motto with a focus on continual growth and improvement in all aspects of our work.
We believe that children learn best when each and every one of them is valued, supported, connected and nurtured to develop a ‘can do’ attitude.
Our school understands and acknowledges that our values of Respect, Responsibility, Care and Achievement underpin
everything we do.
Winthrop Primary School works in partnership with community to support all
students in becoming successful learners, confident and creative individuals and
active and informed citizens.
On Anzac Day, we pause to remember the bravery and sacrifice of those who have served and those who continue to serve our nation.
They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning
We will remember them. ... See MoreSee Less

Thank you to those families who were able to attend our ANZAC service this morning.
We appreciated you joining us to recognise and honour the service men and women from both now and the past. We trust you had time to appreciate our field of poppies, inclusive of the work of every classroom P-6, on the school's front lawn.
As a part of our ANZAC commemorations, we have worked with community to share the stories of our families who have served our country through the Winthrop Primary School Honour E-Book. Please find link via below or via the CONNECT notice shared today.

We sincerely thank the families who have contributed to the book. In sharing their history and taking the time and care to source photographs and artefacts they have enhanced our understanding of the experiences and sacrifices of people across the theatres of war and peace keeping which Australia has been engaged in. We have strived to make these relevant to our children through their connection to self and peers. Additionally, the book reminds us of the ongoing service of personnel who are currently in the Australian Defence Forces. It was so lovely that following today's service we met several families who told further information about their own or their family's incredible experiences during these times. We will be publishing this book as a hard copy and will display it in the front office of the school before adding it to our library collection.
We hope that you have time to view the book via the link above and have time to spend together tomorrow on Anzac Day in recognition of this significant national day.
We will remember them. Lest we forget. ... See MoreSee Less
